Shoulder
Shoulder injuries are a common occurrence, especially among athletes. The shoulder is a complex joint that is made up of bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments, all of which work together to allow a wide range of motion.
This complex structure also makes the shoulder susceptible to injury. The most common type of shoulder injury is a rotator cuff tear, which occurs when the tendons that attach the muscles to the bone are torn.
Usual Symptoms:
- Weakness
- Pain and swelling
- Stiffness
- Inability to lift arms
- Reduced range of motion
Knee
Knee injuries are quite common and can alter the lifestyle of the affected a great deal. The knee is a complex joint and is susceptible to a variety of different injuries including ACL/MCL tears, meniscus tears, and patellar tendonitis among others.
These injuries can be extremely painful and can sideline someone for weeks, or even months. Recovery from a knee injury can be a long and difficult process, but with regenerative tissue therapy you can cut that time down considerably without the use of surgery or anesthesia.
Usual Symptoms:
- Difficulty walking or running
- Pain
- Swelling
- Stiffness
- Reduced range of motion
Elbow
An elbow injury is any kind of damage that occurs to the elbow joint or the surrounding tissues. Elbow injuries can range from mild to severe, and can occur due to a single traumatic event or from overuse.
One of the most common causes of elbow injuries is overuse. This can happen from doing the same motion over and over again, such as when you’re playing tennis or throwing a baseball. Other causes of elbow injuries include falls, direct blows to the elbow, and twisting the elbow too far.
Usual Symptoms:
- Weakness
- Inability to lift arms
- Pain and swelling
- Stiffness
- Reduced range of motion
Back
The most common type of back injury is a sprain or strain, which occurs when the ligaments or muscles are stretched or torn. This can happen suddenly, such as during a fall or lifting a heavy object, or it can happen gradually over time.
Back injuries can be extremely painful and debilitating, and can often lead to long-term problems. The back is a complex structure made up of bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons, all of which work together to support the body and allow for movement. When any of these structures are damaged, it can cause pain and impair movement.
Usual Symptoms:
- Limitation of activities
- Difficulty walking or running
- Pain and swelling
- Stiffness
- Reduced range of motion
Hip
The hip is a large weight-bearing joint, and when injured, the person often has to stop all weight-bearing activity. This can lead to a loss of muscle strength and flexibility in the hip, as well as pain and stiffness. In some cases, the hip injury can also lead to arthritis.
The hip joint is a ball-and-socket joint that allows the leg to move in many directions. Supported by a large group of muscles, ligaments, and tendons. These structures work together to keep the hip joint stable. Problems with any of these structures can lead to pain and limited movement in the hip.
Usual Symptoms:
- Difficulty walking or running
- Pain
- Swelling
- Stiffness
- Reduced range of motion
